On October 17, 2025, UNESCO celebrated the completion of Volumes IX, X, and XI of the General History of Africa, a monumental work mobilizing over 230 scholars. Through this collective effort, the project offers a Pan-African and decolonized perspective on the continent’s history. Two founders of AFROSPECTIVES share their reflections on the intellectual and cultural challenges of this transformative endeavor.
